NYC - WTF!
Below is my anti-socialist rant that I posted on social media after Mamdani, a socialist, won the mayoral election in the illustrious city of New York. I think that the reason why a person like Mamdani with his outlandish and outright stupid ideas won is because most people are ignorant of economic and political science. They do not teach it at public schools, and so people might come across it in some way at a college level or by pursuing self-education. The fact is that socialism does not have a good record in history. And if people understood it, such person like Mamdani would be brushed off by the majority as queer. Of course, there are always people leaning towards a certain ideology, believing that they will procure a better standard of living, religious superiority, or even retribution. Everything like that has already happened, albeit not necessarily in the USA.
I belong to the group of people who simply do not take people like Mamdani seriously. Not only because he does not have much to offer as a person or as a politician, but most importantly because his message is simply erroneous. And, yes, there will always be a large segment of the society sucked into utopias with promises of free transportation, cheap groceries, and affordable rents. This all has been tried elsewhere. And it always failed. Socialism is not an honest political or even societal system. People cannot thrive in such a system. I personally believe that socialism only exists for certain class of people, the purpose of exploitation and for their personal enrichment. Socialism represents the sort of HOPE belief system activating people in a radical way to bring down existing system unbeknownst to them that it will benefit the rich and powerful. I honestly do not believe that anything of the sort that Mamdani is preposterously proclaiming is even suitable for a city of such magnitude like New York.
Although there might be a twist. As much as I am vocal and displeased about Mamdani winning the election, I do not think he will have the leverage or even enough time to transform the city into his socialist utopia. Let us not forget that NYC is a financial center, with many major businesses having their headquarters there. Wall Street is part of this financial hub with global reach. Many quite wealthy people live there. I have no doubt that anybody running for mayor is first and foremost vetted by the oligarchy in a city like New York. Mamdami got the stamp of approval from the Jewish organizations otherwise there would be no campaign. Also, the economy of NYC is too enormous to be transformed even within 4 years of Mamdani’s mandate as mayor. Not to mention that as mayor he still needs to seek approval of the city council, state legislators, and even the governor for this type of demolishing the economy and turning it on its head. Therefore, I believe that there is something else behind the curtain we do not see yet. He certainly could turn NYC into a criminal paradise with some of his neo-Marxist ideas, but that could backfire, for the large Jewish population would not like that. So, what is it that Mamdani and his backers have in mind for NYC? Is this just a stint for the midterm elections taking place next year? Will the billionaires that enabled Mamdani to be the next mayor over Cuomo sponsor some of his agenda and set a precedent for other places to follow? Clearly, the money is not there for Mamdani to do anything of the sort he campaigned on. The spoiler has not been revealed yet, but I am sure we will learn about it in due time, and the picture will get definite contours. In the meantime, we can watch Mamdani getting annihilated in the media and read rants just like the one below.
I cannot fathom why so many people believe that socialism or even communism is the answer to some of the problems we are facing right now. By golly, folks, don’t you know history? Basic economic principles? Socialism does not work, never worked and it will never work! It is going to make things far worse for the poor while the rich and especially the oligarchs will maintain their status. The middle class will be decimated because they will be paying for stuff to keep the socialist agenda going. Until the system implodes because they will literally run out of other people’s money. Nothing is for free! For crying out loud! What is for FREE? Somebody needs to eventually pay for it. Who will be paying for free bus fare, rent freeze schemes, etc.? It is utter nonsense. The rich and people of some means will leave NYC, and who is going to be left to tax? The poor. The people already living off the government hand outs. The city will start crumbling just like any other country run on a socialist or communist platform. And Mamdani? Why in the world do people cheer for a person who was born with a silver spoon, did not hold a regular job, is a self-proclaimed Marxist and Islamist, and on top of it is a multimillionaire! WTF! I do not even think he will be the actual mayor of NYC. It will be his handler, Bill Ackman, and his buddies from BlackRock and Wall Street. Mamdani is nothing but a puppet. Time will tell what the oligarchs have in mind for NYC. Something tells me that through the rent freeze schemes they will push the current landlords out and buy everything up wholesale. Once BlackRock gobbles up the best real estate, Mamdani will leave the stage. I also suspect that NYC crime will go through the roof. I have been here for 20+ years, and never would I think that so many people would start embracing socialism. Good luck to the good people in New York. You will need it.
